Video Chat

We were supposed to go to Indy this weekend to spend time with Justin's family, including Lauren, Jeff and Leo (our newest nephew), but Max came down with an ear infection and goopy eyes on Friday, and we didn't want to get anyone sick (HELLO -- we learned our lesson at Christmas). So we had to settle for a video chat. Max saddled up in front of the laptop with his Ritz crackers and was ready to roll. Here he is catching up with Parker.

Learning to Walk

We picked up this walker toy at a secondhand store today. It was between a hippo and a truck, and the hippo looked cleaner. Max caught on right away, and within a few tries, he was on his way.
The videos really showcase his progress over a few hours.

Babyproofed

We tried to block Max from the computer's power cord and outlet with this chair, which worked until his ball rolled under the chair.

His Drawer

I put locks on most of the kitchen cabinets, but this one has become Max's drawer while I'm hanging out in the kitchen. It's fitting because this is where I keep all of his dishes and bottles. He loves to take everything out in search of treasures.

Day in the Life

We're getting a little stir crazy with this weather, and I'm feeling guilty because of my lull in blog posts. So here are a few shots of a typical day.

I brush Max's teeth after breakfast, and then Max brushes Max's teeth.Max's toys have officially taken over the living room. We spend most of the day moving from one "station" to the next. As soon as I start putting something away, he immediately becomes interested in it again. And he still loves to eat. I made a bunch of turkey meatballs the other day -- ground turkey, pureed sweet potato and a little minced onion. I keep them in the freezer and break them up to make the perfect finger food.

Reading

No matter how many toys we have laying around, Max finds the non-toys the most fun -- including magazines, remote controls, cords and any electronic device. I gave in on this day.

Nine Months

Max turned nine months this week, which is so hard to believe. He is 28.5 inches and weighs 21 lbs., 10 oz. (75th percentile on both fronts). He is a great eater and is happy all of the time -- which is a huge difference from the colicky days of last summer. Danza recently called him "charming," and I think that about sums it up.
